Many of you know that my son and I got to Walt Disney World an awful lot. We take it for granted, and my son is probably a little spoiled on it… Let’s revise that… My son is very fortunate that we get to go to Walt Disney World so often.
Because of we go so much, a lot of times, we go early and leave early, after doing just one or two things. Special events like the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, or Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get us to stay longer. It’s rare that we will stay a long time in a park when it’s hot and busy.
But today, we stayed more than 6 hours in the park… and we still only rode one ride. And we had a great time! I made a photo scavenger hunt for my son that had us running all over the Magic Kingdom, trying to find all kinds of things. It was a great way to keep things fresh. Even though we go to the parks all the time, this scavenger hunt was still a challenge for both of us.
Here is the photo in all it’s glory. Out of 100 objectives, we were able to get photos of 95. I’d originally made this for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and I made some changes so it wouldn’t be quite so hard at the Magic Kingdom, but there were still some things that I think just can’t be found. For example, I don’t think there’s a jukebox in the Magic Kingdom, but we found a player piano in Diamond Horseshoe, which was the jukebox of it’s day.
If you give it a try, let me know! You could edit some of the harder things to make it easier or adapt it for other parks. (Update: If you like this, you can also check out our Disney’s Hollywood Studios Photo Scavenger Hunt, too!)
Alexander’s Magic Kingdom Photo Safari
Welcome to Alexander’s Magic Kingdom Photo Safari. In this safari, you will be documenting your experience with photographs of possibly difficult things to find around the park. If possible, try to capture at least one member of your safari group in each picture. None of these photos will require you to ride a ride, though you may find some of the objectives in a ride. To be successful, some subjects may require a little creativity, but don’t bring anything from the list into the park with you.

Your son just became famous in Korea. I used this as an example for a lesson on scavenger hunts. Poor kids had only read about them in school. I think I need to organize one soon.

WOW just what I was searching for. Came here by searching for fire damage
Looks fun! Can’t wait to adapt it a little for my 5, 6,& 7 year old. Thanks so much for sharing! Does the above list work for Animal Kingdom? I would like to use it there. I know you said you originally made it for AK but then adapted it for MK.
I’ll see if I can find my original DAK one, but this one would still work.
I just posted the DAK list here: http://wp.me/pVsDX-wS

Are you a Whovian? Numbers 96-100 are very Doctor Who!
Indeed! My son and I both like the Doctor, and I included those things for him because of it. And *you* get bonus scavenger hunt points for noticing!
